Broadcast high in the Rockies Wednesdays from 2PM - 4PM MT on KFFR 88.3-FM and KFFR.org, DJ Mateo drives Mateo’s Magic Bus taking listeners on a journey around the world, exploring the roots of jazz and blues alongside music from today and the past decades that has been influenced by these incredible art forms.
On this week's ride, Denver-based band Easy Forward (Dan Perron and yours truly, Matt Bauer) rides the bus playing a handful of traditional (Bing and Bowie's Little Drummer Boy & Judy Garland's Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas) and not-so-traditional (Nick Lowe's Christmas at the Airport & John Prine's Christmas in Prison) holiday tunes plus some choice Wilco, Steve Miller and Neil Young sprinkled in for good taste and cheer.
Big shout out and thanks to Derick (aka DJ DJ), our sound engineer at KFFR for helping us sound great - well at least the levels were perfect! Please click below on the SoundCloud chevron below (upper left corner) to listen in...happy holidays & enjoy the ride!
Rock on,
DJ Mateo

"You can't separate modern jazz from rock or from rhythm and blues - you can't separate it. Because that's where it all started, and that's where it all come from - that's where I learned to keep rhythm - in church."
- Art Blakey
